The Green Path

I was recently introduced to The Green Path company by owner, Gary Hillery! He asked if I would try out one of their t-shirts and because of my focus on taking steps to go green I was thrilled to say yes. The idea of owning organic cotton clothing has been very appealing to me lately, but I just hadn’t done it yet.
When the shirt arrived I couldn’t have been more thrilled. It was soft and thick and beautiful! The design wasn’t just screened on, it was beautiful and simply part of the shirt. These shirts are 100% organic and are printed with Earth friendly water based dyes! I was thrilled to see my oldest son wear it.
I had chosen the “Standout Shirt” in the Dune color and it was beautiful! The shirt says “Don’t Be Afraid To Stand Out … be yourself” – perfect for my young man who is embarking upon a new chapter in life!
The goal of the Green Path Company is to help raise awareness of the environmental issues we all face and to help educate people, both young and old, how simple it is to live a greener livestyle. They concentrate on 4 key areas in their business:
1. Raise awareness of the benefits of Organic products though our naturally inspired organic cotton apparel. If you have not felt the difference between organic cotton and traditional cotton you are missing something. Besides the incredibly soft feel, organic cotton uses no chemicals or fertilizers in the growing of the cotton or in turning the crop in clothing, ALL NATURAL.
2. Help teach respect for the environment through interaction with it. We do this through our volunteer trail restoration group, Clean Trails, and thorugh our Desert Hiking service we operate out of the Pointe Resort in Phoenix. Our trail group has donated over 100 hours of service during the last year to park clean up and trail restoration in our home town of Glendale.
3. Youth education. We work with the City of Glendale, Arizona and their Youth Recycling Program on ways to teach kids, ages 5 – 10, how to grow up green. We have developed a group of comic super heroes called the Green Crusaders who teach kids lessons on recycling, water conservation and energy conservation through the comic strip stories.
4. It’s Easy Being Green. We believe if you keep things simple more people with join us in our efforts. We sell the eco-friendly living handbook, It’s Easy Being Green, on our website and offer a free download on our site called Simple Green Living. The template offers 10 simple tips on ways to evolve to a greener lifestyle, shows you simple ways to eliminate junk mail, has water conservation tips and a simple calendar that helps remind you what to do and when to do it.
Take a look at their site to find out about the benefits of organic cotton, see their naturally inspired t-shirt designs and download the Simple Green Living Tips and start on your way down a greener path.
The Green Path has offered one of their Organic Cotton Tote Bags for you to enter to win. To enter, just visit The Green Path Company and take a look around. Come back here and leave a comment telling us what your favorite product or informational article was.

As I was reading the green tips, I came across the Donate Athletic Shoes tip. I had no idea that Nike did that sort of program! My son goes through shoes like crazy…and I have some today that are going to be boxed up and sent to Nike\’s recycling center…instead of thrown away!

I love the tote! I already have 8 of my own bags that I use when I go grocery shopping. I love not using plastic bags.
However, if I were really smart I would put my bags back in the car after each use so I don’t forget them! I’ll go do that now!
One bagger at my grocery store has commented that he doesn’t like my bags because they do not stand up for him to load. Poor guy (read with dripping sarcasm!) stop smushing my bread!

I like the Standout Shirt, because I’m always telling my kids just be yourself, don’t worry what others say.
Both my children are 3.65 and 4.0 gpa’s and my son said in middle school that they make fun of him for being so smart.
I remind him someday he will be the one laughing. Thank you for giving me a chance to win.
